I’m a citizen of Kurdistan. It’s bordered by four countries: Turkey, Iran, Iraq and Syria. Kurdistan is a wide country, but it’s exploited by neighboring countries. It’s divided into four main parts. Turkish Kurdistan is the biggest part of them. It lies south of Turkey. Other parts lie west of Iran, north of Iraq and east of Syria. It has many big cities and many nice villages. Kurdistan is a mountainous zone. It has many series of long mountains. The longest is Gare . Also it has valleys, hills and pains. It’s a famous place for water and has many springs in the mountains. In Our country live many different ethnic groups together. For example Kurds, Christians, Turkeumans and Arabic people. The Kurdish language is the chief language in our country. It has many different religions, but the main religion is Muslim.
I’m from the southern part of Kurdistan. The name of this region is Iraq Kurdistan. Sometimes it’s called free Kurdistan. After the uprising in 1991, when Kurdish actions against the Ba-ath regime, it became free. After that Kurdish people constituted a special government and parliament. We have a special flag. Our currency is the dinar.
I specifically live in central Duhok. I grew up there. It’s about 250 km.s from the capital city. Its people are from many different tribes. All my relations live there.
